.9.9 Hits the Street!

(6.16.2001)

The latest build of FPC is now out. I didn't realize how much had gone into it until I was compiling the latest Formula PC.txt file.
I want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone who sent in bug reports and many others who suggested tweaks to the gameplay that we did our best to implement.

Included in the package are a slew of tracks that meet the final spec, allowing up to 20 players on any circuit. 2 versions of each track have been provided, one with a standard grid (2 spaces between each grip spot) and one with a "tight" grid (1 space between each grid spot). That should satisfy all of you crowd lovers!

Also included is the first in a new concept, Classic F1 teams. I've compiled some of the greatest F1 teams from history (if your favorites aren't in there, just let me know and we'll add 'em! Or better yet, build the team yourself and send it to me, I'll post it just like the community-built circuits!

Now go play!

Help for all would-be track designers!

(4.24.2001)

A new tutorial "How to Build a Formula PC Circuit Using the Formula PC Track Designer" is now available! So if you've ever wanted to create your own circuit, there's a how-to that will show you the way, deliver you from evil, save your soul... well, maybe not all that, but it will make it possible for you to hack out Road Atlanta for the rest of us to play.

Tony Crider has graced us with even more circuits, Zandvoort 2 and Zandvoort Complete. Head to the Downloads Section and give them a try!

On a related note, we've been doing all of our testing on Tony's circuits, so if it weren't for him, my test team and I would have gone nuts LONG ago. He's also been a great help in terms of track functionality and looking out for the future so that Formula PC can handle all of the little quirks that tracks around the world are destined to throw at it. So everybody give Tony a hand, he's definitely become the silent partner is this fun little project.

If this isn't your first time here, you'll notice that this entire site has been moved and revamped. Hopefully everyone likes the new look and finds the navigation smoother than in the past (the old screenshot list was getting way out of hand!).
